The Road Towards the ILC: Higgs, Top/QCD, Loops
The International Linear ee Collider (ILC) could go into operation in the second half of the upcoming decade. Experimental analyses and theory calculations for the physics at the ILC are currently performed. We review recent progress, as presented at the LCWS06 in Bangalore, India, in the fields of Higgs boson physics and top/QCD. Also the area of loop calculations, necessary to achieve the req...
متن کاملProgress Toward A High-Energy, High-Luminosity p§ Collider
In the past two years, considerable progress has been made in development of the p§ collider concept. This collider concept could permit exploration of elementary particle physics at energy frontiers beyond the reach of currently existing and proposed electron and hadron colliders. As a benchmark prototype, we present a candidate design for a high-energy high-luminosity lJ§ collider, with E~m "...
متن کاملExperimental Aspects of Higgs Physics at the ILC
Recent progress in Higgs boson studies for the International ee Linear Collider (ILC) is reported. These studies include extended simulations of the measurement of the Higgs mass, measurements of the Higgs boson branching ratios at higher center-of-mass energies, and methods for extracting the Higgs boson selfcoupling. Also, the interplay between the LHC and the ILC in the measurement of the to...
متن کاملResearch and Development for an X-band Linear Collider*
At SLAC and KEK research is advancing toward a design for an electron-positron linear collider based on X-Band (11.4 GHz) rf accelerator technology. The nominal acceleration gradient in its main linacs will be about four times that in the Stanford Linear Collider (SLC). The design targets a 1.0 TeV center-of-mass energy but envisions initial operation at 0.5 TeV and allows for expansion to 1.5 ...
متن کاملProgress on next Generation Linear Colliders*
The purpose of this paper is to review progress in the U.S. towards a next generation linear collider. During 1988, there were three workshops held on linear colliders: 1.) “Physics of Linear Colliders,” in Capri, Italy, June 14-18, 1988; 2.) Snowmass 88 (Linear Collider subsection) June 27-July 15, 1988; and 3.) SLAC International Workshop on Next Generation Linear Colliders, Nov. 28-Dec. 9, 1...
